3. Estimates and Quotes
All estimates and quotes provided by Chris Construction Co are:
- Free and non-obligatory - You are under no obligation to proceed after receiving an estimate
- Valid for 30 days - Pricing may be subject to change after 30 days due to material costs or market conditions
- Based on site assessment - Final costs may vary if additional work or unforeseen issues are discovered
- Subject to written agreement - Work will not commence without a signed contract or work authorization
4. Contracts and Work Authorization
All construction projects require a written contract or work authorization signed by both parties. The contract will include:
- Detailed scope of work and specifications
- Project timeline and milestones
- Payment terms and schedule
- Materials to be used
- Warranty information
- Change order procedures
Any changes to the original contract must be documented in writing through a change order process.
5. Payment Terms
Payment terms will be specified in your project contract and may include:
- Deposit - A deposit may be required before work begins
- Progress payments - Payments may be scheduled at specific project milestones
- Final payment - Due upon satisfactory completion of work
- Accepted payment methods - Cash, check, credit card, or other agreed-upon methods
Late payments may be subject to interest charges or work stoppages as outlined in your contract.
6. Project Timeline
We strive to complete all projects within the estimated timeline. However, delays may occur due to:
- Weather conditions
- Material delivery delays
- Discovery of unforeseen structural issues
- Client-requested changes or additions
- Permit or inspection delays
We will communicate any anticipated delays promptly and work to minimize their impact on your project.
7. Warranties and Guarantees
Chris Construction Co stands behind the quality of our work:
- Workmanship warranty - We warrant our workmanship for a period specified in your contract
- Materials warranty - Manufacturer warranties apply to materials used
- Warranty exclusions - Normal wear and tear, misuse, or unauthorized modifications are not covered
To file a warranty claim, contact us in writing with a detailed description of the issue.
8. Insurance and Licensing
Chris Construction Co is fully licensed and insured:

- General liability insurance - Protects your property during construction
- Workers' compensation - Covers our employees on your project
Certificates of insurance can be provided upon request.
9. Client Responsibilities
As the client, you agree to:
- Provide clear access to the work area
- Protect personal belongings not in the work area
- Make timely decisions on material selections and design choices
- Make payments according to the agreed schedule
- Secure any necessary HOA or other third-party approvals
- Ensure pets are secured during work hours
10. Cancellation and Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement under certain conditions:
- Client cancellation - You may cancel before work begins with written notice; deposit may be non-refundable
- Mid-project termination - If the project is terminated mid-stream, payment is due for all work completed and materials purchased
- Company termination - We reserve the right to terminate for non-payment or unsafe working conditions
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Chris Construction Co's liability is limited to:
- The total contract amount for the specific project
- Direct damages only; we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages
- Claims must be filed within one year of project completion
12. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute:
- Good faith negotiation - Both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through direct communication
- Mediation - If direct negotiation fails, disputes may be submitted to mediation
- Arbitration - Binding arbitration may be required as specified in your contract
- Governing law - These terms are governed by the laws of New York State
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
